First, try to save any pieces of the tooth that have broken away. Next, rinse them in warm water, place them in a clean container, and cover them in milk, water, and some salt.
Furthermore, rinse the injured person’s mouth with warm water and attempt to stop any bleeding. Then, apply a clean gauze or cloth to the area and apply pressure. However, if the bleeding doesn’t stop after 10 minutes, call the dental team or go to the hospital.
When a tooth is knocked out, you need to act fast – therefore, call us as soon as possible!
First, only hold the tooth by the crown – do not touch the root.
Next, rinse the injured person’s mouth with warm water and attempt to stop any bleeding. Apply a clean gauze to the area and apply pressure. However, if the bleeding doesn’t stop after 10 minutes, then call our dental team or go to the hospital.
Where possible, attempt to replace the tooth into the gum socket. Gently place some pressure, but do not be too firm.
On the other hand, if you can’t replace it, then rinse the tooth in warm water, place it in a small container, and cover with milk, water, and some salt.
When you lose a crown or a filling, it is extremely rare that we need to see you the same day. Therefore, please schedule an appointment with us. Prior to your visit, here is what you need to do:
Fillings: If you find the filling, place it in a clean container and bring it with you to your appointment. Additionally, this will help us assess the situation and determine the best course of action.
Crowns: On the other hand, if you find the crown, give it a good clean and line the inside with toothpaste or dental adhesive. Afterward, you can then attempt to replace it or keep it safe in a container. This will help protect the crown until your appointment.
If you are suffering from a severe toothache, then the first step is to inspect the tooth and clean the area. Use floss to remove any debris, and also check the gum line. However, if the pain persists, then please call our Port Angeles dentist at (360) 452-9744 as soon as possible.
